What brand instrument will UsedOboes.com sell?
We sell all brands and models of instruments. Your instrument should be in good condition before it is offered on the website for best results. See our Scale to Cosign page to determine the condition of your instrument before sending it with the consignment form.   

Do you have instruments not shown on the website?
We keep our website updated regularly. What you see is what we have ready to sell.   Other instruments may be arriving in a few days/weeks and will be listed promptly. 

How do you Advertise?
We advertises on the internet and through venures comprised of students, teachers and professionals.

How do people try the instruments?
Interested customers can come to our location by appointment to try instruments or we will ship the instruments for potential customers to try.  The customer must provide a credit card payment or certified check.  The customer is also charged for shipping and insurance.

How much is an instrument worth?
We cannot evaluate an instrument by email or phone. You can tell how much you want for your instrument and after it is evaluated, a price will be set using your desired amount or based on our evaluation. You may use our Scale to Consign information page to help determine the condition. If you are willing to sell your instrument for less than the evaluated price, let us know.  We won’t go under your lowest desired price unless you say so.

How long will it take to sell?
It can take anywhere from one week to several months or years to sell an instrument — We can’t give an exact time. We will offer your instrument for sale as long as you request. If you want your instrument back at any time, you pay the return packaging, shipping and insurance.

How do I ship the instrument?
Ship anyway that is convienient and safe and let us know when you will be shipping.

What is the fee to list on UsedOboes.com?
There is no fee to list your instrument, but we must have the instrument at our location for potential buyers to try. People travel to test instruments and it is easier to sell if a potential buyer can try it against other similar instruments. You are not charged a fee if your instrument doesn’t sell, however you will need to pay for return shipping if you want your instrument back before it is sold.

When do I get paid?
The fee for selling an instrument is deducted from the price after the sale. See consignment form. Your instrument is listed at an amount that will allow for a consignment fee. Your payment is sent after the sale is completed usually  within in 10 days.

How Do I Know If an Instrument is Available?
Email an inquiry to date stamp your interest. More than one person may ask to try an instrument at the same time, so each person’s request will be put in order.  We may mark SOLD after an instrument sells or just remove the instrument from our listings.

How Can I Try an Instrument?
You may try any instrument for 3 – 5 days  after delivery.  This testing time may vary depending on the time of year and the amount of people on the waiting list.  You must provide a valid credit card payment through Paypal before an instrument can be shipped.  International orders require full payment before we can ship overseas.  Return the instrument promptly because more than one person could be waiting to try/buy the same instrument.

How Much Will it Cost to Ship an Instrument?
Shipping will be calculated based on location, weight and insurance needed. We can give you an estimate of the cost – or just place an order to see an approximate amount. You pay shipping/insurance.

How Can I Pay For The Instrument?
You may pay for the instrument with a check, money order, or credit card.

Can I Return the Instrument?
If you decide NOT to buy the instrument,it must be returned within 7 days.  It must be returned it in the same condition or you will be charged for necessary repairs.  

How Are Instruments Packaged?
Instruments are packaged with styrfoam peanuts, bubble wrap or crumpled newspapers.   Return the instrument in the same box with additional packing material if needed and insure the instrument for full value.

Shipping Requirments: Someone will need to be at the place of delivery to sign for and instrument (s). If you will not be at your residence, it can be shipped to your place of work. Delicate instruments can not be left on doorsteps or side porches.
